Honest comparison

Analisa vs Google Analytics 4

GA4 is free and does almost everything — with cookies, a consent banner and a steep learning curve. Analisa does fewer things, without cookies, and focuses on one: which channels bring visitors who convert.

Google Analytics 4 is the industry default. It plugs into Google Ads, exports to BigQuery and has a report for nearly everything. In exchange it sets cookies (_ga lasts two years), usually sits behind a consent banner, and fills gaps with modeled data and thresholds that hide low-volume rows.

Analisa sets no cookies, anonymizes IPs at ingest and shows direct counts, with no sampling or modeling. The dashboard has fewer screens, each one answering where visitors come from and which of them convert.

Pick Analisa if…

  • You want cookieless analytics and an easier time with GDPR.
  • You open GA4 and can’t find what you need: you want goals and funnels by source, UTM and country in a few clicks.
  • You want Web Vitals and JavaScript errors with nothing to set up beyond the script.
  • You need per-visitor data export and deletion by API to answer data subject requests.

Stay on Google Analytics if…

  • You spend on Google Ads and rely on the native integration (conversions, audiences, bidding).
  • Your team works in BigQuery and needs raw events there.
  • You need advanced analysis (free-form explorations, cross-channel attribution, path analysis) that Analisa doesn’t have.
  • Zero cost is non-negotiable and your volume is above Analisa’s free plan.

Moving off Google Analytics

The safest path is to run both for a few weeks. Analisa doesn’t import GA history, so export anything you need to keep before you switch GA off.

  1. 1

Create the account and the site

Sign up free, add your site and list your domain under Allowed origins.

  2. 2

Add the script without removing GA

Paste the snippet in <head> or follow the guide for your stack. If GA lives in Tag Manager, there’s a GTM guide.

  3. 3

    Turn key events into goals

Each GA4 key event becomes an analytics.track("name") call and an event goal. Page-based conversions (e.g. /thank-you) become path goals.

  4. 4

    Compare, then switch off

Expect differences: GA only measures visitors who accepted cookies (and models the rest); blockers affect each tool differently. When you’re comfortable, remove GA and update your cookie banner and privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Does Analisa replace Google Analytics 4?

For most sites, SaaS products and stores that want to know where traffic comes from and what converts, yes. If you rely on Google Ads, BigQuery or advanced explorations, you still need GA4.

Can I import my GA4 history?

No. Export the GA4 reports you want to keep before removing it; Analisa starts counting when its script goes live.

Why are Analisa and GA4 numbers different?

GA4 only measures visitors who accepted cookies, estimates the rest with modeling, and hides low-volume rows. Analisa counts the events it receives, without cookies. Ad blockers and how each tool defines a session also move the numbers.

Without cookies, do I still need a consent banner?

Analisa sets no cookies and anonymizes IPs. It keeps one random anonymous ID in localStorage, and some readings of GDPR/ePrivacy treat any browser storage as needing consent — check with your DPO.
