Honest comparison
Analisa vs Matomo
Matomo is the most complete open source alternative to Google Analytics. Analisa is the opposite in scope: few screens, no cookies, no server to run.
Matomo comes in two flavors: On-Premise, free and GPL-licensed, which you host; and Matomo Cloud, managed. It covers everything from e-commerce to a tag manager, imports Google Analytics history and, with premium plugins, adds funnels, heatmaps and session recording.
Analisa doesn’t try to be a suite. It answers where visitors come from and which of them convert, cookieless by default, and runs the infrastructure for you.
Pick Analisa if…
- You want cookieless by default, with no cookieless mode to configure.
- You don’t want to maintain a server, a database and upgrades.
- You want funnels included in the plan, without buying separate plugins.
- You prefer a short dashboard your whole team understands without training.
Pick Matomo if…
- You need to host everything on your own infrastructure, with open source code (GPL).
- You want to import your Google Analytics history.
- You need heatmaps, session recording or form analytics.
- You want a tag manager built into your analytics.

Frequently asked questions
Can Matomo work without cookies too?
Yes, if you turn it on. By default it uses cookies, and there’s an option to force cookieless tracking. With Analisa there’s nothing to configure: the SDK never writes cookies.
Does Analisa have heatmaps or session recording?
No. Analisa measures where visitors come from, what they do and whether they convert, but it doesn’t record screens or draw click heatmaps.
Can I bring my Matomo data over?
There’s no import yet. Analisa starts counting when its script goes live.
